Augmented, Virtual and Mixed Reality Content Company Laduma is giving visitors to MIPCOM a chance to interact with Stitch, an all-new AR character that is being launched this week.

Visitors to MIPCOM can grab a ‘selfie’ with Laduma’s latest augmented reality creation – Stitch the Fox – in Cannes this week.

The AR, VR and MR company is exhibiting to thousands of delegates at the world’s biggest content market.

In preparation for the event, which hosts four days of high-level meetings, screenings and conferences, Laduma created a new AR mascot.

And showgoers are being urged to join Stitch on the Laduma stand at P-1.B2 – P-1.C-1 for that all-important souvenir snap.

Alex Kunawicz, Vice President of Strategy at Laduma, said: “We want Stitch to be a fun way of reminding people that we are breaking new ground in AR. MIPCOM is a key date in the content industry calendar, but it should also be enjoyable.

“Our creators here at Laduma have done a fantastic job of making a movable character who can interact with his surroundings. Stitch will be a memorable way of breaking the ice with delegates.

“As a company, we want customers to enjoy the augmented, virtual and mixed reality experiences we offer. These technologies are very much the future of marketing within the entertainment industry.”

To interact with Stitch, delegates should visit the Laduma stand at the famous Palais Des Festivals.

A series of markers will guide people to the character’s location, using mobile phone technology.

Laduma AR developer Tommy Pickersgill, who led the team that created Stitch, said: “AR is a huge opportunity for people to discover so much more about the world around them. It is about bringing people and technology closer together.

“We decided to create a fun character who would reflect our values as a company. If people have fun and create memories when they visit our stand, then Stitch has done his job!

“As part of the creative process, we decided to use place markers at our stand, that would allow people to fully interact with Stitch. He will show how AR can help to change the boundaries between traditional media and fully-immersive experiences.”
