Invest Liverpool

International Business Festival 2018

Challenge

To produce an immersive experience to highlight the key offerings of Liverpool City Region (LCR), specifically the different industry sectors, covering all six boroughs that make up the city region. The experience would be displayed at the International Business Festival 2018 and shown to delegates visiting from around the world. It would then be hosted online and used as a promotional tool by Invest Liverpool to encourage greater international investment over the coming years. The experience needed to be exciting and engaging, while also informing visitors that LCR is a great place to live, work and invest.

Solution

Laduma created a 360° film, shooting around the city region in creative ways to produce a truly immersive experience for viewers. Locations included the centre of a team-huddle with St Helens Rugby League Club, on top of a wind-turbine, up close to a Python at Liverpool’s Tropical School of Medicine and many more. The finished film was then displayed in Laduma’s CaVRn VR dome, at the entrance of the International Business Festival, allowing groups of delegates to step inside and discover what Liverpool City Region has to offer in just three short, but memorable, minutes. Watching in our 20-person capacity dome, with its unique floor-to-ceiling projection system, allowed the audience to share the experience with others, with some top festival officials occasionally stepping in to act as unofficial guides during the three-minute film!

Results

Our film was the talking point of the festival, with thousands of people experiencing it across the three weeks, including HRH Prince William (The Duke of Cambridge), Secretary of State for International Trade Dr Liam Fox and former England and Liverpool footballer Jamie Carragher. The client couldn’t have been happier with the reaction from delegates, as seen here in this video:
