TRANSFORMING A CONFERENCE ROOM WITH INTERACTIVE PROJECTION

Challenge

To take an ordinary conference room and turn it into a creative and collaborative hub for various teams within Intermountain Healthcare and College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHiME). The space needed technology that could assist in fostering new ideas, could create a mood and setting to spark effective ideas and conversations. The tech would need to be user-friendly and multi-functional in order to add real value.

Solution

Laduma created an interactive projection installation. The projectors and software that we have developed offer the ability to layer video content, presentation slides, surround sound and the capability to brainstorm and write on the walls. The installation allows for multiple video conferencing – facilitating more engaging communication. People from in this room can video conference with a variety of other people in different locations – while all feeling like they’re in the same room.

Results

The team at Intermountain immediately saw an improvement in the productivity of the meetings that take place in the space. The conference room is now a more creative and collaborative place which allows people to sit face-to-face, and without the need to turn to view the content projected onto the screens. The room has also become a popular place for people to sit and work away from their regular desk or workstation.
