LADUMA USES PROJECTION MAPPING TO CREATE IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE AT HIMSS 2019

Challenge

To produce an immersive experience for Intermountain Healthcare at HiMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society). HiMSS is a leading health information and technology conference that invites over 45,000 professionals from 90+ countries around the world to come together and share ideas. Intermountain Healthcare asked Laduma to create an experience that was unique, interactive, and unlike any trade show booth seen before. Laduma was challenged to design an intriguing space that attracted guests and allowed them to feel relaxed amid the high energy of the trade show.

Solution

Laduma decided that projection mapping would be an ambitious and exciting solution to achieve Intermountain Healthcare’s objectives, given the space was 2000 sq ft. The use of immersive projection would allow us to create multiple environments that would completely transform Intermountain’s booth space at HiMSS. The five environments included a nature scene with interactive animals, such as bears, deer, rabbits, and fish, as well as a demonstration of a life-flight helicopter rescue (one of Intermountain’s unique services) in the mountains of Utah. Not only were we able to create a relaxing and tranquil environment through the use of visuals, sound effects, and scents, but we were able to transport visitors to a different world away from the otherwise busy conference hall.

Results

The reaction to the booth space that we created for Intermountain Healthcare was unmatched. Visitors were impressed, intrigued, and even taken aback by the interactive components. The booth caught the attention of hundreds of delegates passing by and became a talking point of the conference. As word spread, people were encouraged by others to experience it for themselves. The team at Intermountain Healthcare was delighted with the end result of the booth space and enjoyed a successful conference.
