Develop the LA Galaxy brand in untapped markets across the world and to invite new fans to Los Angeles by creating a series of first-of-their-kind immersive 360° Virtual Reality experiences.
Solution
Laduma presented a series of exciting concepts to LA Galaxy management and the decision was made to create six films as part of the award-winning #ThisIsLA campaign, featuring some of the club’s biggest names.
Results
Our production team followed Galaxy’s star players around Los Angeles, filming them at their favourite locations. Steven Gerrard took supporters to his Beverly Hills mansion, Robbie Keane reflected on his career at his favourite rooftop restaurant and Ashley Cole went hiking in the hills.
Each film helped fans understand their favourite players better, as they spoke openly about their lives in Los Angeles. Using our unique immersive technology, fans were able to explore the city like never before, from sitting on a beach to being in the locker room at the Galaxy’s home ground – the StubHub Centre. This was a truly ground-breaking series.
Having built the Galaxy a bespoke Virtual Reality app, Supporters flocked to download the content from all corners of the world. Galaxy also benefitted from coverage in Sports Illustrated, the BBC, The Times, ESPN, Fox and Turner, among others.
