VIP guests at the Oregon Air Show were given a chance to experience the Red Arrows like never before inside Laduma’s bespoke VR Dome.
Laduma has created an immersive experience that will give guests a true sense of what it is like to fly among the world renowned Red Arrows – the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team – as part of their historic tour of North America.
The immersive experience took place at a reception hosted by the British Government as part of The Oregon International Air Show. British Consul General Andrew Whittaker hosted the event that also featured a live Q&A with members of the Red Arrows.
The immersive experience was viewed in Laduma’s 23ft CaVRn, the first 360º dome in the world that projects floor-to-ceiling Virtual Reality content. This experience gives groups an immersive 360° experience without the use of headsets, smartphones or other devices.
President of Laduma, Dan Rutstein, said: “I could not be more proud to be working on something as iconic as the Red Arrows. Their tour of North America is generating incredible interest here and back home so I am delighted that our technology is helping to tell their story. Showing immersive footage in our Dome brings the excitement and drama of their precision flying to the guests on the ground – the perfect complement to watching a flying display.”
Wing Commander Andrew Keith, Officer Commanding of the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, said: “The Red Arrows’ North American tour is bringing the best of British to new audiences. Using our images and footage in this immersive way is an extension of that and hopefully will inspire people still further by combining technology and creativity.”
“The Red Arrows tour is bringing the expertise, creativity and teamwork of the pilots and crew to North American audiences” said Clare Risman, Head of Marketing for the UK’s Department for International Trade (North America). “The tour is the ideal opportunity for UK companies to demonstrate their expertise and creativity. Using incredible images and content, Laduma has recreated the thrill of the Red Arrows flights in an innovative virtual reality experience for our guests. ”
